The house and stables are close to the main road into town, but Lucy also owns acres of fields behind them. The horses are free to roam the orchards, meadows and riverbanks when they are not called to duty, but Lucy makes sure she is never far away.
There is another farm next door which is much more traditional, inhabited by a farmer who tends to the fields and the cattle, and his wife who runs the lower fields as a campsite for holidaymakers and travellers; its function is quite contradictory to Lucy’s farm and the two don’t naturally sit side by side without clashing. On top of that, their sheepdog has taken a particular disliking to Rebel!
