Rebel is a three year old boisterous puppy. He has grown up essentially as a younger brother to Star, and the pair have an energy for play and adventure that the other ponies lack. Rebel looks up to Star greatly and shares many of his aspirations for an exciting life.

He is also the character who knows Lucy the best, and often gets the most visible affection from her. He also provides a loyal bridge between the human world and the horse world by the very nature of being allowed inside the farmhouse.
